This photo was taken Aug.
2, 2004. My newborn granddaughter, Haven, encircled by love and protection - with her mother's arms, my hand and
her Guardian Angel hovering nearby. She was born about one hour before this photo was taken.
We did not even notice
the perfect angel image until my daughter-in-law called, after receiving photo copies we had mailed to her, and told us to
take a closer look at the photo. We were touched and amazed, for there was nothing in the room that could have made
this reflection.
We later had the photo enlarged and it's the
most incredible thing I've ever seen - perfect detail!
IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN ANGELS, PERHAPS YOU
WILL WHEN I TELL YOU THE REST OF THE STORY... In 2003, in this same hospital, my daughter (Haven's mom) was told that
her first pregnancy had ended in miscarriage. The baby was still inside her, but it's heart was not beating.
She had surgery a few days later, to remove the baby. It was a very sad, hard time for my daughter and her husband and
the rest of our family. Before surgery, in a curtained waiting room, with doctors and nurses popping in and out, I tried
to comfort my daughter. As we waited, a little old man with an oldfashioned hat on and a bible in his hand opened the
curtain and stepped in and softly said, "We know this is very hard for you and just wanted you to know we're all praying for
you." and then sort of bowed and stepped out. We looked at each other - who was that man? - how could he know
why she was there? I went to the curtain and looked up and down the hall and he was gone. I turned
back to my daughter and she said, "He's my angel." (She was slightly drugged at the time, so we didn't really discuss
it further.) Later, as I waited a few hours while she was in recovery, I looked for the old man and never saw him. Back
at home, we talked about him and I thought we should ask the hospital if they knew anything about him, but my daughter
said he was an angel and she didn't want to think otherwise. All I know is that he could not have access to her
files (and with privacy laws, I doubt that hospital staff would tell a stranger something like that) she could have been there
for a million reasons, and his words seemed to comfort her more than anything had in previous days, so maybe he was
an angel.
Please understand, although I am religious,
I'm not a nut! I do not see the Virgin Mary in a piece of toast or the image of Jesus on my window shade. But
now, two years later, after considering that old man and the feeling he brought into that room and after being awed
by this photo everytime I look at it, I'm convinced that we do have angels all around us and I also believe Haven's Guardian
Angel is her big brother or sister watching over her. I find it all very comforting.
